Grease 3 quart
rectangular baking dish and spread half the bread cubes on the bottom. Top with cream cheese cubes and remaining bread
Combine eggs, milk,
butter and syrup in a blender. Beat until
ingredients are well moistened and pour over bread and cream cheese. Press the bread cubes into the liquid to make sure
they are all moistened. Cover with plastic
wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours and up to 24 hours.
Bake uncovered at
325 for 35-40 minutes. When it is done, the
center is "set" and the edges are nicely golden brown. Serve with syrup on the side.
